Sound / In Light: James Turrell Ganzfeld Double Vision

SOUND / IN LIGHT is a site specific piece for James Turrell's light installation Ganzfeld: Double Vision, situated in Ekebergparken in Oslo. The piece is based on the Ganzfeld effect, a phenomenon of perception caused by exposure to an unstructured, uniform stimulation field. The piece circles around one note, C, in two octaves, where the sound quality and timbre colors how the sound is perceived. As Turrell's light installation tries to create the sense of just seeing, so the intention of the piece is to create the sense of just hearing.
